The conference takes place in the Edward Johnson Building, i.e., the main building of the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto (80 Queen’s Park; click here for a map). The most important thing is to not confuse this building with the nearby Royal Conservatory of Music on Bloor Street. Contrary to what some navigation apps will tell you, the Edward Johnson Building can be accessed on foot from the Queen’s Park side. This is the shortest way (approx. 5–7 minutes) for those staying at the Victoria residence, although you will have to make a slight detour because of an ongoing demolition process. You can also enter the building from the foot/bike path known as Philosophers’ Walk, which can be accessed from Bloor Street (to the north) or Hoskin Avenue (to the south).

Getting Here

Coming from Union Station: take the subway (TTC) line 1 to Museum or St. George (regular fare: $3.30; you can just tap your credit card, no need to buy tickets).
Coming from Pearson International Airport: the flat rate for a taxi to the part of town where the Faculty of Music is located is $70. Please note that rideshare services might charge a surge rate because of the FIFA World Cup. For those wanting to economize, the recommended public transit option is to take the UP Express train from Terminal 1 to Union Station ($12.35), and change to the subway there. Another (even more economical) option is to take the 900 Airport Express bus (from Terminal 1 or 3) to Kipling station and there take the subway line 2 to St. George.
Coming from Billy Bishop Airport: a taxi or rideshare might be the most convenient way. However, there is also a free shuttle service (every 15’) that takes you to Union Station, from where you can take the subway.
